About Us
We are a one of a kind couple who over the past 9 years have gone from friends to best friends to engaged to eventually our happily ever after. It all began in a musical called Seussical, where Josh played the part of Mr. Mayor, and Kayty played the part of his wife, Mrs. Mayor. Throughout the musical season, they had to spend a lot of time together practicing parts. They went their separate ways when they both went off to college, but reconnected during the summer of 2011. Their friendship once again blossomed over the course of time and this time developed into even more than friendship, and on August 5, Josh asked Kayty to start dating him. Over the course of the year their love continued to grow deeper and eventually...well you'll have to read about that in Our Proposal...Kayty & Josh love spending time outdoors, taking pictures, and crafting. Our most recent craft is taking an old wooden door and transforming it into a coffee table. Our favorite board game is Scrabble. We love exploring in the woods, old rustic buildings, and looking at garage sales for antique-ish things for their future home. Kayty has a huge love for Ball Mason jars, and Josh love to hunt. During the winter Kayty can be found crocheting while Josh is out hunting. But on a cold snowy night, they love to bake delicious treats together and make warm drinks. They both love cooking and one of their favorite parts of the day is making dinners together. When summer rolls around, they enjoy being in their hometown Sauk Prairie, WI together & go for walks, swims at Devils Lake, out to Tom Sawyers' farm.

How Our Next Chapter Began {Our Proposal}
Once upon a time a boy and a girl had just started dating. They decided a wonderful way to spend the evening together would be to catch some fireflies, but alas, there were no fireflies out that night...Fast forward 10 months and 9 days, and the boy was trying to think of the most perfect way to propose to his love. He thought for a couple of weeks, and came up with multiple ideas, but none of them seemed the perfect way to ask for her hand in marriage.
One the night of June 16th, 2012, he saw a firefly, and everything came together. What better way to continue their relationship than over the same thing they did during the very beginning of their relationship? The boy asked to girl to go catch fireflies with him. She of course said yes, and brought along a Ball Mason jar (one of her favorite items in the world), and her camera. They went out to Tom Sawyers farm to catch fireflies. The field was filled with the brilliant lights of the fireflies. He went to catch fireflies in the jar, and she started taking pictures of the firefly-filled fields.
He said to her, "I caught one!" and she responded, "Oh let me see, and make sure you give it some air to breathe!" He brought the jar over to her, got down on one knee, and asked if she would marry him. Instead of there being a firefly in the jar, there was a beautiful solitaire diamond ring.
She was in such surprise and shock, she could not believe this was truly happening. This moment they had talked about and dreamed about for months had finally arrived, and she had not even had a hint that he had purchased a ring yet! She said "Yes, of course!" for she knew that he and she would live happily ever after, together forever.
The proposal, the ring, the fireflies, the love of each others life, everything about that night was perfect. And so a new chapter in their book began...
